Soho Social is Barnsley’s premier destination – a three-floor venue bringing together live music, top DJs, cocktails, and good vibes.

In 2011 we burst onto the nightlife scene in Barnsley and what an amazing journey it’s been! Constantly reviewing and reinventing ourselves to stay relevant and on point, we are proud to say we never stand still.

Across our floors you’ll find a rooftop terrace, the main room for live acts and club nights and afternoons. Downstairs is a dedicated comedy club. It hosts regular stand-up shows. These shows have featured artists as diverse as Billy Pearce and Crissy Rock through to performances by Paul Tomkinson, Matt Richardson, and Tony Carroll.

The Underground bar is available for private hire – perfect for parties, launches, or exclusive gatherings.

We’ve welcomed standout performers like Love Affair, Odyssey, Jaki Graham, Phil Fearon, Angelo Starr, Harry Cambridge, Milburn, K-Klass, Jeffrey Daniel of Shalamar, Darrell Smith, Eban Brown, SouLutions, Andrew Cushin, The Rosadocs, Sleaford Mods, Hazel Dean, Nathan Moore, Manchester Ska Foundation, and many more – plus guest DJs including Stephanie Hirst, Jon Jules, and Mike Vitti from Ronnie Scott’s.

For touring artists, we’re a 200-capacity venue. We look to venues such as Pilgrim 54 in Newcastle and Ronnie Scott’s famous jazz bar in London for inspiration. Our venue is equipped with a quality sound system, stage, green room, and sprung dance-floor. Soho Social provides a comfortable and intimate setting. It is the perfect venue for artists seeking that special connection with their audience. Also, let’s not forget our famous Yorkshire hospitality!
